Since its public release in 2009, Michael Dougherty’s horror anthology film Trick ‘r Treat has risen to the tops of people’s favorite Halloween films lists. The film compiles four different horror stories wrapped together with Sam, the cute and deadly spirit of Halloween that enforces his rules on Halloween night. In 2010, Legendary Comics released a graphic novel adaptation of the film, followed by a prequel anthology titled Days of the Dead, which gives us four more stories throughout the history of Halloween. In celebration of the saga’s 10-year anniversary, Legendary Comics is releasing a brand new Omnibus titled Sam’s 10th Anniversary Collection.
The new collection will contain both the original Trick ‘r Treat graphic novel, the Days of the Dead prequel graphic novel, a few new Sam stories, new artwork, a brand-new introduction from creator Michael Dougherty, and other extra content.
Regarding the new omnibus, Dougherty said, “Even if we can’t have Halloween parties or go trick or treating this year, I hope this compilation will help readers conjure Sam and that special spooky season magic he brings. Because as much as the holiday has become about costumes and candy, Halloween was always meant to be a celebration of those who’ve passed, so I can’t think of a better time to gather around a glowing jack-o’-lantern sharing stories that honor the best night of the year.”

The omnibus is has been put together by an amazing team of writers and artists, including Marc Andreyko (Batwoman), Stephen Byrne (Green Arrow), Christopher Gugliotti (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Zach Shields (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Krampus), and many more.

Perhaps Dougherty and Legendary Comics are wetting our whistles for the Trick r’ Treat sequel that was promised after the release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters…or maybe they’ve just decided we’ve had enough tricks for 2020, and it’s time for some treats.
