Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s only bloody Deadpool appearing in a pre-credits teaser ahead of the new Logan movie, and it’s as hilarious as we would expect from the Merc with a Mouth.
The clip parodies the Superman movies, with Wade Wilson attempting to change into his familiar red and black costume in a phone booth, all in order to save some pensioner who has fallen foul of a hoodlum. In true Deadpool fashion though, nothing quite goes to plan.
It’s good to see that despite having a whole new director, the follow up to the most successful R rated movie of all time has the same feel as the original, and promises to be just as good, if not better.
For anyone looking closely enough, the teaser contains a few brilliant Easter eggs. There’s the graffiti on the phone booth exterior displaying the name ‘Nathan Summers’, the real name of Cable (high pitched excited squeal), as well as posters for Firefly and Logan itself. Wilson can also be heard name dropping Logan/Wolverine too, which will have the fan boys (ourselves included) frothing at the mouth at a possible crossover.
While Logan has just hit cinemas, Deadpool 2 has no official release date. All we know at this time is it will be directed by David Leitch, and is part of Fox’s 2018 release schedule. No official teaser trailer has been released, so take this pre-credits sequence as a nice little bonus.
