Famed action hero, Chuck Norris, will appear in Houston for Comicpalooza 2017. Known for his immeasurable martial arts skills, Norris has entertained audiences in numerous action films, including The Hitman, The Delta Force and Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection, Missing in Action and its sequels, as well as the popular 1990’s television series, Walker, Texas Ranger.

Chuck Norris will be on hand at George R. Brown Convention Center Saturday, May 13th for a question and answer panel session with fans, autograph signings, and photograph opportunities.

Chuck Norris

“Everyone knows Chuck Norris. He is ingrained in popular culture through his films, television, and internet memes that remind us often of the man, the myth, the legend. He hasn’t been a guest at a show like ours in more than 40 years so bringing him to Houston’s Comicpalooza is a significant honor,” states John Simons, Founder of Comicpalooza. “In fact, knowing Chuck Norris, he’s probably moving the Earth to bring Comicpalooza to him.”

Prior to his acting career, Chuck Norris served in the United States Air Force with a stint in South Korea. While abroad, Norris studied the martial art of Tang Soo Do, which led to teaching and ultimately running several martial arts schools upon his return. Norris’ résumé also includes prestigious wins at martial arts tournaments across the country, earning him a notable 65-5 fight record between 1964-1974. He officially retired in 1974 as an undefeated Professional Full-Contact Middleweight Champion.

Chuck Norris first debuted on screen in the 1972 Bruce Lee film, The Way of the Dragon, as the American martial artist Colt. He has since appeared in more than 30 featured films and four television series, incorporating his martial arts knowledge into his performance and stressing action and technique over violence.

Norris joins Comicpalooza’s elite lineup of talent and professionals that includes Marvel heroes Anthony Mackie, Jon Bernthal, Charlie Cox, Mike Colter and Finn Jones; Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stars Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson; #1 New York
Times bestselling author, Lev Grossman; and many more. The premier pop culture festival will feature more than 2,000 hours of programming, spanning from popular trends to obscure topics. It will return to George R. Brown on Friday, May 12 – Sunday, May 14.
