A brand-new trailer for God of War was shown at this year’s Sony E3 conference. The trailer shows some exciting new gameplay, and the story hints at the latest adventure of the tattooed man-mountain Kratos.
The trailer also highlights some of the changes to the core God of War formula. Kratos and his son will embark on a dangerous journey, confronting titanic monsters and murderous enemies in the untamed frozen wilderness of Norse mythology. We see the father-son duo travelling through some refreshingly colourful and vibrant environments.
God of War also illustrates the new theme of Kratos trying to control his rage and raise his young son, all while confronting his murderous and selfish past. The relationship between the two will form the backbone of this story. The trailer also features boat gameplay, a first for the series. Plenty of combat footage was also revealed, as Kratos eviscerates his enemies with his fancy new frost axe.
It ends with a God of War spectacle– a gargantuan serpent rising from the deep to confront our bearded hero. God of War will launch in early 2018.
