Overwatch

If you (somehow) haven’t had the chance to test drive the youngest member of the Blizzard empire, then you’re in luck! Overwatch will be free to play on all compatible platforms from September 22nd through the 25th. Just in time to try out the new Junkertown map!

The full roster of 25 heroes and 16 maps will be available to play in Quick Play, Arcade, and Custom game modes. You’ll be able to level up and earn loot boxes, unlocking unique skins, sprays, icons, highlight intros, and more. This is the real hook, in my opinion. Blizzard has also confirmed that players who end up purchasing the game (AKA selling your soul) will keep any levels and loot earned, you just need to make sure you’re purchasing the game on the Xbox Live, PlayStation Plus, or Blizzard account that you played on.

I may or may not be a little guilty of badgering friends who have shown the slightest interest in playing Overwatch to play during the free weekend. So, here, I will do the same. I implore anyone who has had the slightest interest in playing to try it out! Overwatch was the first FPS I dedicated any time to learning how to play (and the first that genuinely interested me) and I haven’t been able to put it down.

The free weekend will launch on September 22nd at 11 am PT and end on the 25th at 11:59 pm.

You can also find installation and play instructions  as well as a FAQ for first time players on the Blizzard website.
