The recent news surrounding the fate of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: The Game has been devastating for fans of the series. With just two episodes left to go to close out Clementine’s story in The Final Season, news broke concerning the shutdown of the company. This leaves the status of the final two episodes in question, and it’s possible we’ll never get the proper chance to see the series end as it should.

In the wake of all of this bad news, former Telltale dev Jake Rodkin is offering something to soothe the wounds. On Twitter, Rodkin posted a video of what he calls an alternate ending to Season One of The Walking Dead: The Game. Rodkin notes that this ending wasn’t intended to be seen by anyone, and was put together by Rodkin and Sean Ainsworth during the last week of production. That’s going to be apparent after watching the video.

The clip picks up in the final episode, with a bitten Lee Everett holding onto that sign near the Marsh House. After telling Christa and Omid to meet him later, Lee says he’s going to go get Clementine. Here’s where things get drastically different, as Lee uses parkour and The Matrix-style maneuvering to fight his way through the zombies. Humorously, he wears the skull of a walker as a cap as he fights through walkers, culminating in destroying the stranger’s station wagon.

This clip is even more insane than it sounds, and you can check it out below.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season has released two of its four planned episodes. Telltale Games may potentially finish the season if they can establish a deal with a new partner to assist them in developing the next two episodes, however, as of now nothing is promised or guaranteed. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
