10Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Synopsis: Feature film adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon TV series.
Horror scribe Gary Dauberman is penning the script for a feature film based on the Nickelodeon series Are You Afraid of the Dark? While full details on the story aren’t clear, what we do know is it will feature the Midnight Society telling a scary story by the campfire, just like on the show. However, this is going to feature a completely new story, and won’t be recreating any of the series’ classic episodes.
Although the show was originally developed for children, don’t expect the film to be too soft. Dauberman wants to update the story and give it a bit of a darker tone, while still maintaining the heart of the series. “I think it is scary and I think kids will be scared watching it at times, and also they’ll laugh at times,” Dauberman describes. We’re hoping to find out more info soon, but as of now, we’re intrigued by the concept.
