Last Year: The Nightmare - Elastic Games

We love horror video games at Horror Geek Life, and we’re always looking forward to checking out new titles in that category. We’re certainly looking forward to Elastic Games’ Last Year: The Nightmare, which is an asymmetrical multiplayer game. Taking place in an empty school building and its surrounding areas, the game lets one player take on the role of a supernatural killer, with five others controlling teenagers trying their best to survive.

Earlier this year, the BETA for the game was launched. Elastic was taking notes, keeping track of which issues needed to be ironed out prior to the official release. Paying attention to the fan feedback, their goal is to put out something gamers will be happy with, with the idea of adding new content to keep it fresh for years to come. The trailer and screenshots certainly look very promising, and we’re very excited to try it out for ourselves.

From the official website:

Last Year: The Nightmare is meant to be more than just a Live Product, rolling out new features and content over the next few years to make the game deeper and richer. It’s meant to be a collaboration between the Elastic Games team and our community of fans and content creators, working together to bring the best possible version of this title to life.

We plan on launching with a detailed list of changes, optimizations, and general bug fixes to show that when we say our community matters to us at Elastic Games, we mean it. In addition, we’ll be providing at launch a roadmap of things to come for Last Year: The Nightmare in 2019, which includes a home console release among other cool things. This title is going grow over time, and everyone at Elastic Games is committed to making that a reality.

An excellent list of voice talent have now been confirmed for the game as well. The teenagers will be portrayed by Melissa Hutchison (Telltale’s The Walking Dead), Michael Johnston (Teen Wolf), Zeno Robinson (Metal Gear Survive), Erica Lindbeck (Spider-Man), Noshir Dalal (Red Dead Redemption 2), Elias Toufexis (Assassin’s Creed Oyssey), Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV), and Jon Olson (World of Warcraft). This has us stoked even more.

Last Year: The Nightmare will be dropping on the Discord store on Dec. 18. Get a peek at what you can expect from the game by watching the official trailer below!
