Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. The movie was released this past summer to great commercial and critical success. Clearly, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a bit hit at theaters, but is the home video release worth picking up?

Led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, the movie primarily follows an actor and his stunt double navigating their careers in Hollywood in the year of 1969. Names joining them in the ensemble cast include Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Austin Butler, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, and Bruce Dern. Per Tarantino’s style, multiple storylines are explored throughout the course of the film, with each of them intersecting in interesting ways as the movie tells its story.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is truly Tarantino at his best. While a perceived decline in quality can affect the work of many filmmakers as the decades roll by, it’s very evident here that Tarantino hasn’t missed a step since releasing Reservoir Dogs. Because the story is so deep, the film also lends itself quite easily to multiple viewings, and as such, I think I enjoyed my second viewing on the Blu-ray even more than the screening of the film I caught in theaters.

If you’re going for the 4K Ultra HD version, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is going to look more beautiful than ever on your television. The regular Blu-ray version is nothing short of gorgeous, highlighting the visual appeal of the stylish look Tarantino is going for with his ninth movie. The home video release also comes with tons of awesome bonus features as well, including over 20 minutes of additional scenes and tons of behind-the-scenes footage showcasing the making of the film.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Considering the quality of the film, its high re-watch value, and the loaded special features, I can’t recommend this one enough. You can watch the official trailer for the film below.

Synopsis: Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.
