The 2001 ghost movie Thirteen Ghosts is getting an all-new Blu-ray from Scream Factory, and the release will come with exclusive bonus features an beautiful cover art. A remake of the 1960 horror film of the same name, the remake is directed by Steve Beck and stars Tony Shalhoub, Embeth Davidtz, Matthew Lillard, Shannon Elizabeth, Rah Digga, and F. Murray Abraham. Perhaps the film was a few years ahead of its time, as ghosts seem to be overtaking zombies as pop culture’s favorite monsters of the moment.
Like many horror films, the reviewers weren’t very kind to Thirteen Ghosts upon its initial release in 2001, though it has developed a cult following in the years since. This new Blu-ray is described as a Collector’s Edition release, which comes with a guaranteed slipcover when sold during the first three months after its street date.
The Blu-ray also features exclusive new artwork from artist Joel Robinson, though old-school fans of the film will still be able to reverse the wrap, which features the original theatrical artwork.
