In partnership with Blumhouse Television, Into the Dark is a monthly horror event series from producer Jason Blum. Each feature-length installment is inspired by a holiday and features Blumhouse’s signature genre/thriller spin on the story. Pooka Lives! will premiere on Friday, April 3rd…which is now, unofficially, Pooka Day.
Pooka Lives! stars Felicia Day (Supernatural), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek), Malcolm Barrett (Timeless), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Jonah Ray (Mystery Science Theater 3000), Lyndie Greenwood (The Expanse), and Gavin Stenhouse (Black Mirror). The episode is directed by Alejandro Brugués (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) and written by Ryan Copple (Escape the Night).
Synopsis: A group of thirty-something friends from high-school create their own Creepypasta about Pooka for laughs, but are shocked when it becomes so viral on the Internet that it actually manifests more murderous versions of the creature.
Into the Dark’s Pooka Lives! will be available on Hulu Friday, April 3rd. On release day, you can tune-in for a live watch party with cast. Stay tuned for details, which are coming soon.
Pooka Lives! is a follow up to Pooka!, which premiered on Hulu on December 7, 2018. The episode follows a struggling actor (Nyasha Hatendi) who gets a holiday season job as a Christmas character in a plush suit to promote the hottest toy of the year, “Pooka.” At first, it’s a fun and friendly distraction, but he slowly develops two personalities- one when he’s in the suit, and one that’s outside it- as Pooka slowly starts to take possession of him.
