Jason Voorhees won’t be on the big screen anytime soon with the rights to the character still being sorted out in the courtroom, but fan films from filmmakers who love the series are keeping his spirit alive in the meantime. In the works for years, the upcoming fan film Voorhees from director Cody Faulk is among the most anticipated of these kinds of projects, and now it’s looking like we’ll finally get to see it this fall.
Promising a bloodbath with some of Jason’s most violent kills yet, Voorhees looks like it will be a bloody good time if the teasers released so far are any indication. An all-new teaser provides the latest update on the project, unveiling the fan film’s new release date of Oct. 31, 2020. With a strong likelihood of Halloween getting cancelled this year, having a new Friday the 13th fan film to watch can at least give horror fans something fun to do that day.
Voorhees will be unleashed on Oct. 31, 2020, according to the teaser. The film will be free to watch for fans when it debuts on YouTube via Wet Paint Pictures. You can watch the new Voorhees teaser below!
Synopsis: After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason. Unaware of the locations notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of. It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.
