Mark Patton is hosting a watch party for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge this weekend, and we are all invited. Released in 1985, the first sequel in the popular movie series is a cult classic unlike any of the other Elm Street films. Both Patton and the sequel were just recently covered in the acclaimed documentary Scream, Queen!: My Nightmare on Elm Street, which is now streaming on Shudder.

Anyone wanting to revisit the classic sequel along with its lead star can do so this weekend with the Freddy’s Revenge watch party. On Facebook, Patton posted an ad for the event, asking for fans to simply comment on the Facebook post for an RSVP. Those who enter will be given an entry code on Friday allowing them access into the event. Donations of $10 are suggested, which can be sent via PayPal to Patton’s agent at [email protected]. If you don’t have the money, that’s no problem, as the donations are not required and everybody is welcome to enjoy Patton’s live commentary as he watches along with the fans.
In Freddy’s Revenge, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) returns to unleash terror on the residents of Elm Street, this time attempting to break through into the real world by taking control of the body of Jesse Walsh (Mark Patton). It’s a criminally underrated sequel if you ask me, and it also features by far the freakiest looking Freddy Krueger in the series — especially when he exposes his own brain to Jesse. After all, no one can forget the classic one-liner, “You’ve got the body, I’ve got the brain.”
