Trailer: Jason Rises from the Lake in ‘Voorhees’ Fan Film

Voorhees (Wet Paint Pictures)

Jason Voorhees returns in Voorhees, the new Friday the 13th fan film from Wet Paint Pictures. Directed by Cody Faulk, the film will imagine Jason at his most sinister yet, promising some of the most brutal kills we’ve seen from the legendary masked killer. Better yet, the film utilizes practical FX for all of its kills, a throwback to the horror boom of the ’80s when the Friday the 13th films rose to fame.

As there’s no telling when we’ll see a new Friday the 13th film in theaters with the ongoing legal battle for the rights, it’s been fan films like Voorhees that have been holding fans over. Voorhees appears to present a particularly dark Friday the 13th story with Jason rising from the lake once again to dice his way through a new batch of victims, this time facing a group of dastardly criminals – and their hostages.

Synopsis: After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason. Unaware of the locations notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of. It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.

Voorhees will be available to watch for free on the Wet Paint Pictures YouTube channel on Oct. 31. You can watch the final trailer below.
