Copenhagen-based developer Die Gute Fabrik and publisher Akupara Games released a free content update to commemorate the second anniversary of the IGF award-winning title Mutazione, now available on Apple Arcade, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC.
Two years have passed since Mutazione’s original launch, and now – two years on from the events of the original game – this new “Penpal” DLC allows players to return to the game-world to catch up with their favourite characters. Players will draft letters, catch up on the gossip, and see photographs from their old friends. A durational experience that expands to the space of a week (each letter will take 24 hours to unlock), this free DLC offers a gentle epilogue expanding on the award-winning story’s conclusion. Additionally, small seed gifts will mean avid Mutazione gardeners will also have the opportunity to acquire new seeds and sounds to add to their ever-growing symphonies.

Since the game’s launch two years ago, Mutazione has received critical acclaim and highly positive user reception – responding to the game’s hand-made visuals, compelling story, and captivating audio design. Last year, the game’s free content update saw an expansion on the game’s lauded Garden Mode. This update now focuses on bringing more to players who love Mutazione’s colorful cast, characterization, and story. Players will have the chance to see what “happily ever after” looks like.
