3Visit the Graves of Bonnie and Clyde

Over the years, the DFW metroplex has seen its fair share of notorious figures, such as “public enemies” Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. The two were killed together on May 23, 1934, in Gibsland, Louisiana, after going on a crime spree that claimed over a dozen lives. After being returned to their birth state of Texas, they were laid to rest in Dallas.

Surprisingly, the couple was not buried together despite Bonnie Parker having a designated spot beside Barrow. This was requested by her mother, who famously declared, “Clyde had her in life; he can’t have her in death.” However, Clyde Barrow’s brother and fellow partner in crime, Buck Barrow, is buried beside him. Buck died from injuries sustained following a shoot-out with the police in 1933.

For true crime and history buffs looking for things to do in DFW, add this to your list.
