Never Let Go is the next major theatrical release in the horror genre, and it arrives in a year that hasn’t stopped surprising fans. With a director notorious for keeping audiences on the edge of their seats and a talented cast, this film should be on everyone’s radar.

Plot

A mother and her twin sons are fighting a desperate battle to survive after a mysterious evil has taken over the world. In the isolated forest, they must remain roped to their family home. Their mother warns that the evil will spread within if they become untethered, which would ensure their deaths.

But when hunger and despair set in, one son starts to wonder if the evil actually exists. Is there a living world beyond their boundaries? Do they really need to suffer? Or does Momma truly know best?

Cast & Crew

Written by KC Coughlin and Ryan Grassby, Alexandre Aja directed and produced Never Let Go. Aja has also directed High Tension (2003), The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Mirrors (2008), Piranha 3D (2010), Horns (2013), and Crawl (2019).

Halle Berry (X-Men franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3, Die Another Day) stars in the film as Momma and is an executive producer through her production company, HalleHolly. Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins (The Deliverance, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist) also star as fraternal twins Samuel and Nolan.

Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Dan Levine produced the film through their 21 Laps Entertainment banner, which also produced Netflix’s Stranger Things. Other executive producers include Holly Jeter, Daniel Clarke, Emily Morris, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio.

How to Watch Never Let Go

The film premiered at Fantastic Fest 2024, followed by a red carpet premiere in New York City on September 16th. The film will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, September 20th, via Lionsgate.
