Horror icon Danielle Harris appears in the trailer for Marrow, the latest film featuring the beloved scream queen. Harris, a former child star, rose to fame with her role as Jamie Lloyd in multiple Halloween films. Next, she can be seen in Marrow, uniting with revered actor Michael Ironside as two members of the cast.
Marrow is directed by Mitch McLeod, who co-wrote the screenplay with lead star Jessica Dawn Willis and author Preston Fassel. The story takes heavy inspiration from real events from McLeod’s life, per ScreenAnarchy. Willis plays a vlogger hoping to revitalize her slumping career by inviting her own stalker onto her show, despite suspicions that he might be a serial killer behind the murders of other influencers. Harris plays the vlogger’s wealthy aunt who’s threatening to cut funding behind the show, while Ironside plays a former psychiatrist who previoujsly survived a mysterious encounter with the stalker.
“Marrow takes the true accounts of a stalking in small town Texas in the early 2000s and places it within a modern lens, exploring the world of podcasts America’s oftentimes unsettling fascination with serial killers and true crime podcasts,” McLeod said in a statement. “I’ve never seen the dark side of these explored in film, from both the lens of the audience and those telling these stories, and I want to lean into that in an attempt to understand these dark fascinations held by so many.”
