The Tomb Raider franchise is set to get the live-action treatment once again. This time, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) will be the one exploring underground tombs as Lara Croft, the iconic character made famous by the original video games. As previously announced, Turner is playing Lara in a live-action series in the works at Prime Video from Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Now, fans have an early sneak peek at how Turner will appear in the role.

On her Instagram account, Turner posted an image of herself as Tomb Raider girl. She included the hashtag #WardrobeTest. Her outfit, shades, and handgun are certainly reminiscent of the video game character, suggesting this will be a faithful adaptation, at least in terms of wardrobe. It wasn’t long before the post went viral, garnering hundreds of thousands of likes in the span of hours.

Turner will become the third person to play Lara Croft in an official Tomb Raider adaptation. In 2001, Angelina Jolie made her debut as the character in the feature film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider; she reprised the role in the 2003 sequel, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life. Alicia Vikander would later take over the role in the Tomb Raider reboot film released in 2018.

Turner’s series will be the first live-action show featuring Lara, though Hayley Atwell voiced the role in the animated Netflix series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
