Former child stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are getting back together to take on one of horror history’s most iconic monsters. After starring on the Nickelodeon shows All That and Kenan & Kel, the duo more recently reunited for the Paramount+ sequel Good Burger 2. It’s clear now that there’s more where that came from, as the duo is again set to co-star in a new horror-comedy film.

Per THR, Thompson and Mitchell are set to star in the new film Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein. While a release date hasn’t been set, the plan is to start shooting this summer. Jonah Feingold (31 Candles) is writing the screenplay, while Mitchell and Thompson will serve as producers. Other producers include John Ryan Jr., Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Carter Swan, while Will Hariton, Azim Spencer, and Monica Weber are executive producing.

In a statement about the project, Thompson said, “Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected. We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”

“Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new,” Mitchell added. “It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”

Taking inspiration from the Abbott and Costello Meet... films, Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein will star the Nick duo as delivery drivers “whose routine drop-off takes a terrifying turn when they arrive at a creepy, out-of-place castle and accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster — turning an ordinary night into a fight for survival.”

Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein does not yet have a release date.
