Ginny in Friday the 13th Part 2
Paramount Pictures

“I don’t want to scare anyone, but I’m going to give it to you straight about Jason.”

As of Feb. 3, a solo 4K Ultra HD release for Friday the 13th Part 2 is now available for purchase. The release comes just in time for the movie’s 45th anniversary, and just ahead of the next actual Friday the 13th on the calendar, coming later this month.

While it won’t be hard to find the film on streaming, as it’s currently available for free to watch on Pluto TV (along with the rest of the franchise’s first eight installments), this is something some collectors of physical media have been waiting for.

The release will come with the following special features:

  • Lost Tales from Camp Blood – Part II
  • Inside Crystal Lake Memories
  • Friday’s Legacy: Horror Conventions
  • Jason Forever
  • Original Theatrical Trailer

Directed by Steve Miner, Friday the 13th Part 2 is the first film in the series to feature Jason Voorhees as the antagonist, since his mother committed the killings in the original movie. Steve Dash played Jason under the mask, while Warrington Gillette appeared as the unmasked Jason.

The film also starred Amy Steel, John Furey, Walt Gorney, Kirsten Baker, Lauren-Marie Taylor, Stu Charno, Marta Kober, Bill Randolph, Tom McBride, and Russell Todd. Betsy Palmer and Adrienne King also make special appearances as Alice Hardy and Mrs. Voorhees.
