If there’s something strange in the neighborhood, who ya gonna call? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! For years the age-old question of “Who you gonna call” has always resulted in a mass cry of “GHOSTBUSTERS!”, but that’s all set to change after the latest Comic-Con reveal from Playmates.
Playmates Toys took to the stage during the ‘Ghostbusters 101 – A Ghostbusters Panel of Biblical Proportions’ presentation, to reveal its latest line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures, the Ninja Ghostbusters.
This will be the latest in a long line of TMNT mashup figures. Ever since the characters inception, they have crossed over with everything from classic horror characters to stars of the WWE. Recently, the Turtles have also been featured in a crossover comic book from IDW, bringing the world’s of the Ghostbusters and TMNT together. It’s clearly a very successful way to keep the characters fresh, and the collectors collecting.
The figures, which stand six inches tall, will feature all 4 original 1984 movie Ghostbusters in a bizarre mashup with your favourite TMNT heroes. While the Leonardo/Ray, Michelangelo/Venkman and Donatello/Spengler figures are as weird as they come, the Raphael and Zedmore figure, complete with mustache, looks like the thing of nightmares. Despite all this, these Target exclusive figures will no doubt be essential additions to someone’s collection.
Playmate’s Ninja Ghostbusters will be released this fall.
