Now that Toy Fair 2019 has come and gone, we’ve had time to digest some of the awesome horror toys slated for this year. Check out our most-anticipated horror toys of 2019!

Mezco’s upcoming offering in their infamous Living Dead Dolls line is horror’s favorite creepy sisters, the Grady Twins from The Shining (1980). Fit for sound, they come equipped with some of their favorite phrases like “Come play with us, Danny… Forever, and ever, and ever…”. They stand 10” inches tall and feature 5 points of articulation. Currently in pre-order, the Twins are set to ship Aug – Oct 2019.

Super 7’s ReAction line has been a smash hit since the vintage-style 3.75” figures, based on the size and look of the original Kenner Star Wars toys, appeared on the toy scene. Featuring nostalgic card backs, they look just as nice on display as they do open. The Worst line is a Super 7 fever dream of original monster mash-ups, and their second wave of figures is on the horizon. The card backs will include art from the legendary Ed Repka, the creator of Megadeth’s Vic Rattlehead and album artist for metal bands that include Death, Gruesome, Massacre, Toxik, and more. The Shedusa figure is available now for $15 – the rest will continue to trickle in throughout 2019.

Keeping the ball rolling on NECA’s Ultimate series comes Roy Burns, the faux Jason from Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. With the Ultimate standard of 25 points of articulation, Roy also comes with his Jason mask and a variety of murder weapons – a machete, cleaver, knife, road flare, shears, belt, sharp metal pole, stick and tent spike. Currently available for pre-order, Roy is set to ship in June 2019.

Mezco’s One:12 Collective series, named for the 1:12 scale of the figures, is bringing Diabolik to life. Diabolik, a popular Italian comic series created by Angela and Luciana Giussani in 1962, birthed the fumetti neri comics subgenre and introduced Italians to the titular antihero. It caught the eye of horror fans after the film Danger: Diabolik (1968) was directed and co-written by Italian horror legend Mario Bava, of Black Sunday (1960), Black Sabbath (1963), and Blood and Black Lace (1964) fame. With over 30 points of articulation, 2 head portraits, 8 interchangeable hands, and a dozen accessories – including night vision goggles, throwing daggers, and more – this figure is a must for Italian movie fans. Currently in pre-order, Diabolik is set to ship June – August 2019.

Mezco’s gloriously sculpted, detailed “Pizza Face Chucky” figure stands an impressive 15” tall and features “sinister phrases” – including “Hi I’m Chucky, and I’m your friend till the end!”. Accessories include a gun that fits in Chucky’s hand, his classic Good Guy overalls, and Chucky includes 11 points of articulation. Up for pre-order now, Chucky is expected to ship Sept-Nov 2019.

Perhaps one of the most divisive popular horror movies, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, is either the best Halloween movie or the worst, depending on who you ask. Personally, I’m quite fond of it – the same goes for these Silver Shamrock trick-or-treaters figures, each complete with their own treat bag! Plus, a TV set with the Silver Shamrock logo. NECA is planning for a Halloween heavy year, though there is no current pre-order or expected release on these three.

NECA is no stranger to the Trick R’ Treat franchise, having produced a Sam figure in the past. Their newest foray includes screen-accurate burlap clothing, head sack, and trick-or-treat bag – as well as his infamous pumpkin lollipop. Once the burlap sack is removed, Sam’s beautifully sculpted face with articulated jaw is revealed. Plus, he is slated to come in a resealable clamshell package with limited edition art. Currently available for pre-order, Sam is set to ship in Q3 2019.

31 years after John Carpenter’s cult sleeper They Live (1988) burst onto the scene with as a succinct criticism of American consumerism – starring America’s sweetheart, Rowdy Roddy Piper – NECA announced their plans to release a two-pack of the film’s capitalist aliens in Q3 of 2019. Pre-orders are live now on various sites, with product expected to ship in August.

NECA stopped the show with their Ultimate Michael Myers figure. Myers looms at 7” tall, features 25 points of articulation, three heads, hammer, butcher knife & syringe accessories, and a pumpkin that opens up to reveal a skull – a nod to the opening credits. Currently in pre-order status, this figure is set to ship in July 2019.

Super7 has found great success with their ever-evolving Masters of the Universe line, but their release of this Toxie shocked and delighted horror fans everywhere. The Troma hero is ironically from The Toxic Avenger (1984), but was turned into a kids TV show and toy line – Toxic Crusaders – in the early ’90s. The original ’90s toy was a 5” Playmates figure which included the famous orange mop & American flag combo, an orange slime shield, and utility belt/sling. Super7 has revamped the original toy in a 7” figure with a stunning new sculpt, complete with the same nostalgic accessories and including a clear Blobby, Toxie’s blob-mutant pet from the show. At a $35 price point, this figure is a win for casual and hardcore collectors.
