If you take a moment to think of the craziest movie you’ve ever seen, chances are The VelociPastor is twice as insane. For those unfamiliar with the film, it is exactly as it sounds from its peculiar title. In short, the film follows a priest bestowed with the magical ability to turn into a dinosaur, which he then uses to fight crime. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the film also has freaking ninjas?! It really is a movie that just has to be seen to be believed.
Released on DVD and VOD in 2019, The VelociPastor is directed by Brendan Steere and produced by Jesse Gouldsbury. The story apparently came to Steere as the result of an autocorrect on his cell phone, which changed “Velociraptor” to “Veloci Pastor.” Happy accident or not, it was clear from this combination of words alone that there must be a movie made about a pastor who is also a Velociraptor. Thinking to add in ninjas and the other zaniest elements of the film’s story are just icing on the cake.
