Courtesy of RLJE Films, the new horror flick The Barge People will be releasing on Blu-ray and DVD next month. The film is written by Christopher Lombard (The Writer) and directed by Charlie Steeds (Deadman Apocalypse). It stars Kate Davies-Speak (Off Grid), Mark McKirdy (Electric Man), Makenna Guyler (King of Crime), and newcomer Matt Swales.
Feeling like something along the lines of a cross between The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Hills Have Eyes, this one looks rather fun. There just aren’t enough killer fish-people movies out there, if you ask me. While the killers are apparently part fish, the film also appears to have slasher film elements to it as well, as they’re clearly intelligent enough to brandish machetes and other kinds of human weapons.
The Barge People will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and Digital HD by RLJE Films on Aug. 18. You can check out the official trailer below!
