Courtesy of Midnight Releasing, the new sci-fi film Invasion Earth will release in North America next month. From filmmaker James Twyman, the film stars Charlotte Gould, Phoebe Delikoura, Tony Fadil, Jon-Paul Gates, Nigel Thijs, and David Shaw. It will be available On Demand and on DVD on Aug. 8.
In the film, a group of addicts gather as part of a program that will let them avoid jail time, with a journalist posing as one of them in an attempt to find out what’s really happening. The latter gets more than he bargained for when space invaders begin touching down soon after, setting their sights on the would-be criminals and their group. As is clear from the trailer, these intelligent but violent invaders do not come in peace, and they’ve brought along some very deadly gadgets along with them.

Synopsis: The story follows a group of addicts who attend therapy to avoid being sent to prison, while a TV journalist goes undercover and joins the group to try and expose this as a scam. However, all of their lives are thrown into chaos by the beginning of an alien invasion.
