HorrorHound Weekend is taking place in Cincinnati this weekend, Sept. 11 to 13, at the Sharonville Convention Center. Horror fans can expect a packed weekend of celebrity appearances, autograph and photo sessions, vendors, cosplay, panels, and more. One of the vendors in attendance is artist Donald England, whose moody, rich Gothic artwork instantly stands out in a crowd.
To kick off the exciting weekend, we wanted to highlight England’s incredible talent. His art is showcased at horror cons throughout the year, as well as on social media and on his website.
We were curious about how England’s passionate love of horror started. “In the 1970s, pretty much every weekend you could find horror movies on local TV stations, often old Universal Monsters or Hammer Films. I’d say the Hammer films are what piqued my interest the most back then. If I wasn’t watching them, I was trying to draw them from memory. That just continued more and more as I got older,” he told us.
England said that “the list is long” when it comes to his favorite horror films, but “Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Alien, and American Werewolf in London usually top my list.” He added, “Other favorites would be Horror of Dracula, The Thing, Shock Waves, and Videodrome.”
While England’s art spans horror fandoms and franchises, we asked whether he has a specific film or creature he enjoys drawing most. And, of course, we had to know if he has any least favorites.
He explained, “I would have to go with the xenomorph from the first Alien film or any of the Alien films, actually. Never really get bored with them. As for least favorite, I don’t dislike the movies, but Jason, Freddy, and Michael. I’ve done my share of drawing them for a long time and just don’t have an interest in drawing them as much at this point.”

Another project Donald England has taken on is a horror zine titled Late Night Snack, which features fictional stories, art, and comics.
“Late Night Snack is a collaboration with a handful of talented writers that features articles on movies and comics as well as short fiction that are accompanied by a piece of my art. I usually have one or two comic book stories in each issue as well. It’s primarily horror-related themes but also includes science fiction and other topics. My goal was to take things I loved growing up and throw them all in one book: late-night TV, movie theaters, comic books, and weird artwork,” says England.
Donald England can be found at HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati at booths B13 and B14. For the remainder of 2026, his amazing art will be on display at Frankenfest in Detroit, DIY Festival in Ferndale, MI, the Buffalo Horror Garage Sale, Monster Bash, and Motor City Comic Con.
