After the launch of Halloween: The Game, players have been able to jump into Haddonfield with several of the characters featured in the original film. There has been a lot of speculation about which other franchise characters could come into the mix via future DLC, and one name that has come up is Busta Rhymes.
In Halloween: Resurrection, the follow-up to Halloween: H20, Busta Rhymes played Freddie Harris, an internet reality show director. In the climax of the movie, Freddie ultimately thwarts Michael Myers, but not before spouting the memorable phrase, “Trick or treat, motherf***er.” As someone who has defeated Michael on-screen, Freddie is a character who could potentially be added to Halloween: The Game in a future DLC.
On X, the Slash ‘N Cast podcast shared a post reading, “Starting my campaign to get Busta Rhymes in [Halloween: The Game].” Included in the post is a link to a video discussing which characters would be perfect for DLC add-ons, with Rhymes specifically mentioned. On his own X account, Rhymes reshared the post along with a video clip of Freddie delivering his memorable line before brawling with Michael Myers.

No specific information has yet been shared about what future DLC may bring to Halloween: The Game. For now, the focus is on the setting and characters of the original movie directed by John Carpenter from 1978. Dr. Loomis is a playable character in the game, complete with the likeness of Donald Pleasence. Playable characters also include Laurie, Annie, Lynda, and Bob, though in their case, not with the likenesses of the actors in the movie.

The game officially launched on Sept. 8 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The developer, IllFonic, has announced that over 1,000,000 players have since jumped in. Reviews have been largely positive, though there have been a lot of issues with bugs, which the devs have been patching with new updates. It remains unknown when players can expect new content via DLC, though a “Quality of Life” update with various improvements is planned for early October.
“And with Halloween right around the corner, we have exciting plans to celebrate Michael’s big month with all of you,” the devs further teased in a blog post on the official website.
