Fans eagerly anticipating Friday the 13th: The Game have been awaiting an official release date from the good people at Gun Media and IllFonic, and the announcement has finally come.

That’s right, we will see Kane Hodder return to the mask in Friday the 13th: The Game on May 26th! Not only does it feature Hodder as Jason, but we’ll also see exclusive, brutal kills designed by the legendary Tom Savini:

The game allows up to eight people in a session, one person playing Jason and the others as counselors. The counselors work together (hopefully) to defeat Jason or escape the camp. Although there’s no word on how to kill Jason, Gun Media has assured that it will be possible. So get creative, folks!
I had an absolutely great time playing as Jason and the counselors during Friday the 13th: The Game’s beta in December. The fan service is incredible, with authentic Friday the 13th maps, locations and decor. They also brought back Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis, who is a playable character. When I spoke with Thom about the role, he did say that he’s open to playing with fans, so fingers crossed! You can check out the full interview here.

As you can tell, I’ve been more than eager for the release, so having a date is great news. The game will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. If you missed pre-orders, it is now closed, but you can order upon release.

I can’t wait for this game!! I think when the single player is added it will also bring a whole new dimension to the game. May 26th can’t come quick enough!
Would love to play but usually play as single player on a game so sounds like this won’t work for me. Guess I’ll save my money

Single player is going to be patched in so you can wait for that, but the multiplayer looks sweet
