Netflix subscribers were quick to eat up the surprise hit that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina turned out to be. Although the first and second seasons were filmed back to back, it was unclear when Season 2 would be premiering. With a newly-released promo for the show’s upcoming second season, however, comes an official release date from Netflix. Those eager to see the new episodes on the day they drop can mark down their calendars for April 5, 2019.
The new video is not a full trailer, clocking in at about 45 seconds in length. It opens with a montage of Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) trying on different outfits in the mirror as “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways plays. She settles on something black, which is a color we’re certain Salem would approve of. We’re then shown snippets of various moments to see in the upcoming new episodes, and anyone who had fun binging the first season will be intrigued to see the new footage.
While we wait for Season 2, Netflix will also be releasing a holiday special for the series this month. Dubbed “A Midwinter’s Tale,” the episode won’t be an ordinary Christmas special, instead focusing on ghost stories and pagan carols around the yule fire. Of course, this is perfectly in line with the series. Be sure to watch it when it drops on Netflix on December 14.
