8Tim Burton and Danny Elfman ended their feud for this movie
When Mars Attacks! was in pre-production, director Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman were currently at odds. The two had worked together frequently on previous projects, including the Disney hit The Nightmare Before Christmas. Perhaps they were working together a bit too much at the time, because according to Elfman, the two had a major falling out and stopped speaking to each other.
After some time had passed, Elfman and Burton got together at a coffee shop when the latter was working on Mars Attacks! They decided to end their quarrel right then and there, and the pair have had a great relationship ever since. Their bond was mended just in time to allow for Elfman to provide music for the film, and they’d collaborate again many times in the following years.
