Tom Savini is getting his own official biography in the form of a coffee table book from Dark Ink Publishing, and fans can now pre-order a copy at the official website. Titled Savini: The Biography, the first edition run of the book is limited to 1,013 copies with each one brandished with its own unique number.
The book contains over 425 color photos from Savini’s personal life and film work, including dozens of new images never before seen anywhere else. This is very much an official release, as Savini personally oversaw the book’s design and the story will read as if directly from his point-of-view. Signed versions of the book are also being sold for the true horror collectors out there.
Because of the tremendous work he’s done in the genre over the past several decades, Savini is one of horror’s most beloved stars. He is very well known for providing makeup and special effects work across a wide variety of horror movies, beginning with collaborations with George A. Romero on movies like Martin, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. Savini’s work can also be seen in many other fan favorite genre films like Friday the 13th and its 1984 sequel The Final Chapter, The Burning, Maniac, and The Prowler.

Savini is also well known as an actor as well, notably portraying fan favorite character Sex Machine in the vampire movie From Dusk till Dawn. He can also be seen in films like Knightriders, Planet Terror, Django Unchained, and Machete and its sequel with Danny Trejo. The horror movie legend has also tried his hand at directing as well, helming the cult classic Night of the Living Dead remake in 1990. Savini is also planning to direct a remake of the Italian horror film Nightmare City.
