This October will see the release of a new movie about an evil sofa, and apparently, it’s the horror flick we didn’t know we needed. Appropriately titled Killer Sofa, the film is exactly as it sounds, depicting the sentient furniture murdering hapless humans. It’s almost like Christine but with an evil recliner, meaning it looks to be just as entertaining as the Stephen King classic but in a much more hilarious way.

Without a doubt, Killer Sofa seems to be one of those movies that has to be seen to be believed. While a new trailer for the movie only lasts a minute and a half long, it does set the comedic tone and give viewers an idea of what to expect. We’re probably long overdue for a new movie about a killer recliner, and if you ask me, there needs to be more movies like this out there. Written and directed by Bernardo Rao, the New Zealand based film stars Jed Brophy (The Hobbit), Sarah Munn, Stacy King, and Harley Neville.

Synopsis: Francesca always attracted weirdos. When one of her stalkers is found dead, she looks for comfort from her best friend, Maxi. Meanwhile, Maxi’s grandfather, Jack, a disgraced Rabbi, comes across a reclining chair containing a Dybbuk inside. Jack and his voodoo sorceress partner try to find out where the recliner has been delivered while exploring Jack’s newfound gift for communicating with the other world. Meanwhile the reclining chair becomes enchanted by Francesca and starts committing crimes of passion.

Per the press release, Killer Sofa will be available on DVD and VOD outlets this October; an exact date has yet to be revealed. You can watch the official trailer and poster for Killer Sofa below, courtesy of High Octane Pictures.
