Seasons Greetings II is the second installment of Concept Media LLC’s Season’s Greetings franchise. The anthology features three short films by up and coming directors, Brittany Blanton (Don’t Fuck In The Woods), Rob Collins (TaintBad Productions), and Travis Wilson (Heckles & Horror video podcast). Wilson pulls double duty as he also is the narrator that ties the short films together together.
“The Manger,” written and directed by Brittany Blanton, is the first of the trio of tales. Rebekah Erb plays the engaging lead of this twisted tale of love, revenge, and ritual sacrifice. The gore is well done and the music is quite atmospheric. The rendition of Silent Night that plays during this segment is particularly haunting.
“Merry Fucking Christmas” is the second segment, written and directed by Rob Collins. Payton Pleska stars in this segment as a young woman spending Christmas alone after a recent breakup. Unfortunately for her, the solo holiday experience is interrupted when she encounters a serial killer. The short has some great shots. Stephen J. Hodke is perfectly disturbing as the Christmas caroling stalker. The final confrontation is actually brief, but badass.
“The Naughty List,” written and directed by Travis Wilson, is the final segment in the anthology. While all of the segments are good, this is my favorite. Ever wonder what happens when someone is too naughty? In those cases, Santa sends an elf to kill off the naughty. This is a disturbing and over-the-top premise, and one of the reasons this segment is a blast. The killer elf wears a wicked looking mask created by Concept Media’s Shawn Burkett. The deaths are fun and gory and the anticipation with the first one almost killed me. This story will definitely make you want to stay on Santa’s good side.
The anthology will be available on Prime Video and Vimeo On Demand starting December 20th, and you can also pre-order one of the 100 limited release Blu-ray copies from Concept Media’s store.
