Netflix, Hulu, and Shudder all have plenty in store for horror fans after we ring in the new year. Here are all of the new horror films and series coming in to the three streaming services in January 2020.
Must-watch highlights:
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3 (Netflix, Jan. 24): “Part Three finds Sabrina reeling from the harrowing events of Part Two. Though she defeated her father Lucifer, the Dark Lord remains trapped within the human prison of her beloved boyfriend, Nicholas Scratch. Sabrina can’t live with herself, knowing that Nick made the ultimate sacrifice and is suffering, burning in Hell under Madam Satan’s watchful eye. So with an assist from her mortal friends, “The Fright Club” (consisting of Harvey, Rosalind, and Theo), Sabrina makes it her mission to free him from eternal damnation and bring him back into her arms. However, the Dark Lord’s unseating has sent shockwaves through the realms—and, with no one on the throne, Sabrina must assume the title of “Queen” to defend it against a challenger, the handsome Prince of Hell Caliban. Meanwhile, in Greendale, a mysterious carnival rolls into town, bringing with it a threat to the Spellmans and the coven: A tribe of pagans looking to resurrect an ancient evil…”
The Prodigy (Hulu, Jan. 23): Sarah and John Blume are thrilled when their young son Miles starts to show signs of rapid development and extreme intelligence. Their family bliss soon turns into a living nightmare when Miles’ behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent by his eighth birthday. After seeking help from two experts, Sarah is horrified to learn that her beloved prodigy may be under the grip of a dark and supernatural force.
Tammy and the T-Rex (Shudder, Jan. 13): Tammy is a popular high school cheerleader whose new boyfriend, Michael, might be the love of her life. But Tammy’s jealous ex, Billy, won’t stand for anyone coming between him and ‘his’ girl, so he and his friends kidnap Michael, leaving him to be mauled by a lion in a local wildlife reserve. Comatose and at death’s door, Michael’s body is stolen from the hospital by mad scientist Dr. Wachenstein, who extracts his brain and implants it into a giant robotic T-Rex. Originally released as a heavily censored PG-13 movie, now restored to its uncut version with all of the gross-out gags, gratuitous decapitations, gut-ripping and head-smashing, courtesy of special effects wizard John Carl Buechler.

I’m psyched for Tammy & the T-Rex and The Dead Lands!
If they want to make a classic remake, they should remake phantasm. Carrie has been made over too many times. Find other movies to remake. Subspecies the bloodstone, there are just Soo many other options.
