Sometimes, life seems to imitate art, but let’s just hope we’re not at the dawn of a real zombie apocalypse. As reported by The Sun, The Walking Dead zombie actor Michael Mundy was arrested after allegedly subjecting a British fan to physical abuse, which includes battering and biting the woman. The victim, Beverly Jackson, tells The Sun the two first met about eight years ago at a horror convention, and they then became romantically linked about two years ago when with Jackson claiming Mundy promised to get her into show business.
“I fell for him. Initially he was very charming and promised to help me get into films. But he became more and more abusive,” Jackson says. The relationship is said to have since grown much more toxic, leading to a physical altercation in a Germany hotel room in late 2018. According to Jackson: “He hit me around the face, bit me on the hands, arm and back, kicked me and threw me out of the room.”
Things only grew worse from there, as Jackson says the abuse continued leading to a jail stint for Mundy last November stemming from an assault charge. The actor was also slapped with a restraining order, barring him from getting anywhere near Jackson. Last month, Mundy was placed back behind bars for violating the restraining order, though Jackson understandably fears his upcoming release. “I fear he won’t stop until I’m dead,” the British mother says.
Mundy played several “walkers” on The Walking Dead in its earlier seasons. This includes the final zombie shot by Andrea in Season 2 and the very first zombie shown in the opening of Season 3, who’s quickly dispatched by T-Dog. He has also worked on the films The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, 42, and The Devil’s Knot.
