The ultimate pizza party is happening this month, as original April O’Neil actress Judith Hoag is hosting a virtual pizza party on Zoom to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A special announcement trailer released by Hoag on Twitter confirms her involvement, and though she says other cast and crew will be involved with the online pizza party, no other names have yet been revealed. What has been revealed so far is that the official date for the virtual pizza party will be on May 23rd, so mark those calendars now!
Maybe it’s not an existential crisis but I’m stressing: what do you drink with your pizza? I can go so many ways with this… help! @tmntmovie1990 #TMNT #beer #Tequila #water #help pic.twitter.com/lsfCM7y8EA

“It would be great to have a virtual pizza party, with you guys, our fans, and with us, the original, official, cast and crew from the 1990 movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” Hoag explains in the video. The first live-action April also notes that the cast and crew want to “hang out with you guys, share some stories, share some stuff, and get a chance to honor the people who made this all possible, which is you.”
Released in 1990, the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was a smash success, spawning a long-running feature film franchise that is still churning out reboots three decades later. The classic movies in the series remain fan favorites for those of us who remember growing up with the turtles, and none of the new versions are able to replace that sense of nostalgia for the originals. Needless to say, this virtual pizza party sounds like required viewing for longtime TMNT fans.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles virtual pizza party with Judith Hoag will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, which also happens to be World Turtle Day. Stay tuned for more updates on the reunion, which Hoag says are soon to come ahead of the reunion!
