Funko Reveals ‘X-Men’ 20th Anniversary Funko Pops

The first X-Men movie from the year 2000 will turn 20 years old in July, so Funko has chosen this time as the perfect moment to release several new Funko Pop! figures based on the classic superhero movie. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown to be tremendously popular without the use of the X-Men, the original X-Men film franchise is not without many fans of its own. Along with the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire, the original X-Men films played an incredibly important part in popularizing superhero films, and the trend continues to be more popular than ever to this very day.

On social media, Funko released some photos of the new X-Men Pop! figures, and if you’re a fan of the film, there’s no way you can’t love these. The new X-Men Funko Pop! figures include Halle Berry’s Storm, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey, James Marsden’s Cyclops, and Anna Paquin’s Rogue, with Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique and Ian McKellen’s Magneto also included. Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler of X2 and Kelsey Grammer’s Beast of X-Men: The Last Stand are also present, even though their characters weren’t a part of the original movie. Additionally, Mystique will also have a metallic Target exclusive variant and Magneto will have an alternate Pop! figure exclusive to Walmart.

After multiple spin-offs and prequel movies, the film franchise established by the original X-Men will conclude with the release of the upcoming film The New Mutants. We’ll then inevitably see a rebooted version of the X-Men showing up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it’s hard to say exactly when that will happen. Still, the original X-Men films are still fun to go back and watch, with the one that started the franchise remaining among the most memorable of them all.
