‘Dead by Daylight’ Heads to ‘Silent Hill’ in New DLC

Dead by Daylight: Silent Hill (Behaviour Interactive)

Fans of Silent Hill are still waiting for their next official game in the series following the heartbreaking cancellation of Silent Hills, and the folks at Behaviour Interactive apparently didn’t want to wait any longer. As revealed in a new trailer for an upcoming Silent Hill DLC, Behaviour’s online multiplayer game Dead by Daylight is bringing gamers to everybody’s favorite fictional ghost town with an all-new killer, survivor, and special map based on a major location from the Silent Hill games.

Dead by Daylight‘s “Silent Hill Chapter” brings Pyramid Head into the fold as a new playable killer, dubbing him The Executioner. Also included as a new survivor is Cheryl Mason, the daughter of Harry Mason who turns up missing in the original game (and its quasi-reboot, Shattered Memories); Cheryl is also known as Heather in Silent Hill 3, and it’s her SH3 appearance that the DBD character appears to be based on. Finally, the Midwich Elementary School from the Silent Hill video games is included as a new playable map. The detail given to the map looks very much like it captures that Silent Hill feeling, and with Pyramid Head walking around the school, you could almost swear you were looking at a new Silent Hill game.

I’ve had a lot of fun with Dead by Daylight in the past, but have lost touch with the game in recent months. I’m clearly going to have to fix that as soon as the Silent Hill Chapter makes its way to the game, as I’m a particularly big fan of the Silent Hill franchise. The DLC will be available in June 2020, but in the meantime, you can play as other horror genre fan favorites like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Ash Williams, Ghostface, and even the Demogorgon.
