Netflix has released the trailer for Fear Street Part 2: 1978, the second of a three-film series dropping this month on the streaming service. On July 2, the first chapter, Fear Street Part 1: 1994, premiered on Netflix, kicking off the trilogy with a promising start. Many who’ve tuned in are already anticipating the next installment, and you can catch a sneak peek now by watching the official trailer below.

The logline for the film reads: “Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.”

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 is currently streaming on Netflix following its premiere last week. The second chapter, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, will be debuting this Friday on July 9. We can then look forward to the series ending with Fear Street Part 3: 1666 when it premieres on July 16. The final installment will tie all three movies together, as though the films are set in different time periods, they all deal with the town of Shadyside’s haunting mysteries.

Leigh Janiak directs the film, which was written by Zak Olkewicz based on an original story by Janiak, Olkewicz, and Phil Grazidei. It stars Olivia Welch, Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins, and Sadie Sink.

R.L. Stine penned the original Fear Street books that the films are based on, though these movies are much more adult than Goosebumps. The books were first published in 1989 and have since sold nearly 100 million copies. If the movie trilogy is a big hit for Netflix, and the response to the first film has been largely positive, then it’s always possible we’ll see more anthologies with the Fear Street name coming as well down the line.

Catch Fear Street Part 2: 1994 when it premieres on Netflix on July 9.
