Rob Zombie Celebrates ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ Anniversary

The Devil's Rejects | Lionsgate

Rob Zombie is reflecting on 16 years of The Devil’s Rejects on the horror sequel’s 16th anniversary. Released on July 22, 2005, the film served as a direct sequel to Zombie’s directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses. It follows the surviving Firefly family members — Captain Spaulding, Otis, and Baby — as they embark on a violent killing spree while evading the law. The three would later get back together for 3 from Hell, though many fans still fondly recall The Devil’s Rejects as a personal favorite from Zombie’s filmography.

As he works on pre-production for The Munsters, his next movie project, Zombie took a moment to look back at The Devil’s Rejects on its anniversary. He posted a series of images on his Instagram account to remember the good days he’d had with the cast and crew while working on the film. He also recalled the actors who’ve since passed on in the touching Instagram post. You can take a look at it below.

In the caption, Rob writes, “16 years ago today my second feature film THE DEVIL’S REJECTS was released. Making that film was s blast. I am so thrilled it is still finding new fans every day. When did you first see it? Watch the film tonight and remember some of our friends who have left us… Matt McGrory, Geoffrey Lewis, Tom Towles and Sid Haig.”
