One of the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+ to get a physical release is WandaVision, as it’s now available on 4K UltraHD with a special Steelbook packaging. It follows the release of Loki’s first season and arrives ahead of the upcoming WandaVision spinoff series, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. The full WandaVision series has been available to stream on Disney+ since its debut in 2021, marking the first MCU-set TV show to hit the streaming platform. So, is it worth picking up the 4K UHD version?
That’s an undeniable yes, and that’s due to some different factors. Perhaps the most obvious is that this new release looks better visually compared to the streaming version on Disney+. In stunning 4K, episodes look sharper and more vibrant than previously, heightening the enjoyment of watching the series in this different format. For the audiophiles, the 4K WandaVision release includes English Dolby Atmos, and this sounds much better than the compressed Dolby Digital audio featured in the Disney+ version.
What’s most interesting about this release is the bonus features, which offer unseen footage that can’t be found on Disney+. The first disc contains multiple deleted scenes, a gag reel, and a “Through the Years” featurette that reveals an early look at Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.
The second disc includes the documentary Assembled: The Making of WandaVision, a nearly hour-long behind-the-scenes look at how the show came together. This provides great insight into WandaVision, from the cast and creatives down to the visual effects designers, showcasing how the show’s wildest moments were brought to life. The doc is notably on Disney+; however, unlike the first disc’s bonuses, there’s a bump in the quality.
Collectors will likely be happy with WandaVision because the packaging is spectacular. The artwork on the Steelbook looks amazing, featuring imagery of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda and Paul Bettany’s Vision. It opens to include an image of the show’s sitcom-like setting.

Three art cards are also included to further sweeten the release. Digital codes are common with many home entertainment releases, but they’re notably absent with the WandaVision 4K Steelbook, perhaps because Disney wants to keep WandaVision‘s only option to stream by subscribing through Disney+.
While it’s not expected that Disney+ will pull WandaVision or other MCU-set shows anytime soon, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it will happen one day. As more and more movies and TV shows are disappearing from streaming platforms, there’s a growing concern that there won’t be any watch to watch certain titles without having copies on physical media.
WandaVision on 4K was already worth owning without this in mind, but that’s something to think about as well, as the physical copy will forever ensure access to the program.
WandaVision is now available on 4K Ultra HD.
