Outside of the wrestling ring, CM Punk has dabbled in acting with a handful of movie roles. His next part is his most dastardly yet, and though that was “attractive” for the performer, filming one particular scene proved to be rather torturous.

From RLJE Films and Shudder, Night Patrol will be hitting theaters on Jan. 16. The horror-thriller features Punk, credited by his real name Phil Brooks, playing the part of a vampire cop. WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion spoke about about his role in the film for a new interview with Josh Wilding of ComicBookMovie.com, shedding some light on the most gruesome scene he had to film. It involved being essentially “waterboarded” with fake blood, which was “no fun” at all to film, but still worth it for the famed pro wrestler in the end.

WARNING: CM Punk’s comments contain mild spoilers for Night Patrol.

“I straight got waterboarded [with fake blood],” Punk said. “We had a tube that was running up through my chest plate, and I was laying on my back, so, when they hit that, I mean, it was straight in my mouth, straight up my nose. And I have to keep my eyes open, because that’s the scene.”

He added, “I think any normal person would have just rolled over, and gagged. And, no, I was like, ‘We’re shooting it. We got one chance at this. We’ve got to get it.’ And then I spent 15 minutes on my hands and knees, you know, throwing up, after that. It was exciting.”

“Fake blood though, [it’s] very sticky,” Punk continued. “Sounds cool. I used to be the kid who would make fake blood in a bucket, with the Karo syrup and the red food coloring. But, when you’re covered in it, and you’re sitting in it for 16 hours, not fun.”
