Horror genre newcomer and former WWE Champion Phil Brooks, also known by his pro wrestling moniker CM Punk, has reunited with Girl on the Third Floor director Travis Stevens for Jakob’s Wife, an all new supernatural horror flick. In addition to Punk, the film also stars legendary scream queen Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), Larry Fessenden (The Dead Don’t Die), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun), Robert Rusler (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge), Sarah Lind (Fargo), Mark Kelly (Fear the Walking Dead), and Nyisha Bell (Coming 2 America).

In addition to being a Girl on the Third Floor reunion, the film also reunites Stevens with two other cast members he’d previously worked with on another horror film. Crampton and Fessenden both memorably appeared in Ted Geoghegan’s horror flick We Are Still Here, which was also produced by Stevens. “Since making We Are Still Here together, I’ve been looking forward to telling more scary stories with Barbara and Larry. Jakob’s Wife has been a chance for us to dig deep in to the lives of these fictional characters and test them in ways I think genre fans are going to love seeing,” Stevens says.

Stevens co-wrote the script for Jakob’s Wife alongside Mark Steensland and Kathy Charles. The story follows “a woman in her late 50s who, after a chance encounter with ‘the Master’, discovers a new sense of power, a change that comes with a heavy toll.” For now, that’s all we have to go on, but given the names involved with the movie’s production, I’m certainly intrigued already.
