Antony Starr has been delivering a killer performance as the murderous Homelander in Prime Video’s hit superhero satire The Boys. The popular show is soon coming to an end, but fans of Starr will still have more to look forward to, as the actor isn’t wasting any time heading back to the small screen for his next big role.
Netflix has announced the casting of Starr in Breakers, a new series in the works at the streaming platform. Written by Pete Jackson (The Death of Bunny Munro), the new show follows “two backpackers who are sucked into what seems to be a perfect surfing community,” led by a “charismatic but mysterious figure.” Starr is playing the role of Brando, one of the leading roles; no other cast members have yet bee announced.
Starr is also known for his acclaimed roles in other shows like Outrageous Fortune, American Gothic, and Banshee. He has also appeared in several feature films, including The Covenant, Cobweb, and G20. He is also set to play Andy Warhol in the upcoming movie Samo Lives.
It’s not yet known when Breakers will premiere on Netflix. As for The Boys, the fifth and final season will debut on Prime Video in April.
