Scary Movie 6, which has officially been titled as simply Scary Movie, has gotten a new release date. Initially set to arrive on June 12, the film will now drop one week earlier on June 5.

The news follows the release of the official trailer. First, the new Scary Movie trailer debuted on the big screen by playing ahead of the new slasher movie sequel, Scream 7. It has since been made available online for everyone else to see. Several fan favorites from the franchise can be seen in the trailer, this time poking fun at a slew of horror movies from more recent years. Horror icons like Jason Voorhees and Leatherface can also be spotted.

The official synopsis for Scary Movie reads, “Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (Ghostface), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe. Marlon Wayans (Shorty), Shawn Wayans (Ray), Anna Faris (Cindy), and Regina Hall (Brenda) reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every ‘final chapter’ that absolutely isn’t final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed. The Wayans are back to cancel the Cancel Culture.”

Scary Movie will be released in movie theaters on June 5, 2026.
