Let’s play a game of “spot the hallway fight!” The newest teaser trailer for Marvel’s Iron Fist, the next Netflix series that begins streaming March 17th, 2017, has dropped from this year’s New York Comic Con. To say this show will feature stunning martial arts action puts it mildly. Yes, Danny Rand (played by Finn Jones) appears to find himself in a hallway, much like Daredevil has twice and Luke Cage did once, and has to fight his highly skilled way out of it. Considering how much more tactical and magical the fighting will be here than in Daredevil, which is more grounded, I’m not bothered by the setting repetition since it looks like it’ll be a grand old butt-kicking time again.
Other news in the Netflix Marvel spectrum from NYCC this year includes confirmation that Rosario Dawson will return as every hero’s favorite nurse, Claire Temple, in Iron Fist. Deborah Ann Woll will return as Daredevil‘s Karen Page in another Netflix Marvel 2017 show, Marvel’s The Punisher. Lastly, Sigourney Weaver will be the villain in the Netflix Marvel superhero team-up show, Marvel’s The Defenders, which streams much later in 2017. And who’s that we spot in this new teaser? Is that Madame Gao from Daredevil season 1 and 2? I’ll be shocked if she’s not the head honcho of the villainous entity in Iron Fist, whoever that may be.
