Fans are in for a treat as the long running Star Wars-themed burlesque show, The Empire Strips Back, is preparing for a US tour. It will start in California with six shows in the following cities: Riverside, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Show creator Russall S. Beattie brought the burlesque parody to Australian theaters in 2011 and it has quickly grown in popularity.
Beattie says, “Its been a long interesting journey from the little stage we started on to the giant theatres we play now. We never stop developing the show. Always trying to make it bigger, better and reach the standard of quality of the films. The fans are so great and they deserve it.”
The Empire Strips Back features “sexy Stormtroopers, a dangerously seductive Boba Fett, some tantalising Twi’leks, a delightfully luke-warm Taun Taun, a lady-like Skywalker, the Droids you are looking for,” and even has Chewie and Jabba the Hutt making an appearance.
