Apex Legends cheaters

Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends has proven to be a massive hit in just two short weeks. The game reached an impressive 25 million downloads and over 2 million concurrent players in just ONE week. Apex Legends also managed to crush Fortnite’s Twitch record for single-day viewership. With so much activity and hype, it comes as no surprise that there are players who try to ruin the fun for everyone.

Respawn’s community manager, Jay Frechette, went on Reddit a few days ago to give game updates, and addressed the issue of cheating. He confirmed that “over 16,000 cheaters have been identified and banned from the game” by mods so far. He acknowledges players’ suggestions for a report function to be built into the game, saying it is a great idea. As of right now, players must capture their own evidence and report to Respawn via this link. If players spot someone cheating in the game and was not able to capture the evidence, they are still encouraged to get the cheater’s ID and send it in for further investigation.

If you are a fan of Apex Legends and want to keep up with the latest news and troubleshooting tips, Frechette ensures that there will be regular updates via Reddit, with daily posts starting soon. He also says that they are preparing a new sound stage for live-stream shows with the dev team that will start around the launch of Season One.

Apex Legends was published by Electronic Arts on February 4th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. The game is set in the same universe as Titanfall, thirty years after the events of the second game. Respawn Entertainment previously created both Titanfall (2014) and the sequel Titanfall 2 (2016), both of which were also published by Electronic Arts.
