After less than two years, it’s the end of the line for Puppet Master: The Game. Based on the horror movie series from Full Moon Studios, Puppet Master: The Game officially launched on Steam in May 2024. An online multiplayer game, the title is free to play with optional DLC also available for purchase. However, it’s been announced by October Games that Puppet Master: The Game will be delisted from Steam next month, at which point no one will be able to pick it up.

“We wanted to give you a heads up that as of February 25, 2026, Puppet Master: The Game and all DLC will be removed from Steam and will no longer be available for purchase,” the statement reads. “If you already own the game, nothing is changing for you. You will still be able to download and play the game from your Steam library, along with any DLC you’ve purchased.”

It continues, “This game has been a huge passion project for our team, and we’re incredibly thankful to everyone who played, streamed, shared feedback, or supported us along the way. The community has meant a lot to us, and we truly appreciate all the love you’ve shown the game. Thank you for being part of the Puppet Master journey.”

There are multiple game modes featured in the game. This includes a 3vs1 mode where one lone human plays against three puppets; the human must survive by escaping the map, while puppets must protect their master’s secrets. The “Manhunt” mode features 4vs2 matches, where two humans must lift the curse of the Sutekh Idols to survive the puppets’ assault. A “Puppet Master” mode features 4vs4 matches, where three good puppets defend one human against a group of four evil totem players. A puppet-only mode, “Puppet Wars,” has 4vs4 battles where the first team to reach an XP limit wins.

Additionally, a sandbox single player mode is included, allowing players to complete objectives to unlock pages of Andre Toulon’s journal. Earning XP will also let players unlock alternate looks of characters from the movie series, including favorites like Blade, Jester, and Six Shooter, along with familiar Demonic Toys characters. Additional skins for characters can be acquired from DLC packs until all content is delisted.
